Remember my goals for 2011? Not doing so good at trying to achieve them. I have not had a cash game in my office for quite a while. I have had a lot of personal garbage going on in the office and the last place I want to be at night is there. Hopefully that will change soon.
In March I went to Meadows for their deep stack tourney. I went by myself and I really enjoyed just doing my own thing. I only went up Saturday morning and stayed one night. I could not focus in the big tournament. I was really card dead and that did not help, but I really had a hard time paying attention. I have been on a major tournament downswing in live poker. I am going to work hard on the focus aspect of the game. I think one big problem that I am having is that I am drinking and having a good time at the table and that kills all of my attention. Not sure that I want to stop drinking and having a good time so I really am going to have to find a good balance.
I have been playing on line poker a lot lately. I decided to start playing on Bodog. I have been doing pretty well in the tournaments there. I am cashing in about 20% of the tournaments that I play in. It is a very very small sample size but I am pleased with how it is going so far. I don't think that I will be able to play in the wsop this year. We are going to San Francisco in June and I just can't imagine how I will be able to do both. I am trying to figure out a way to go. Had a fun hand at Meadows. As most of you know, I love 2 4. It is my favorite hand. I was at a pretty crazy 1/2 table. UTG raised to 12. There were five callers before me. I am on the button with 24 spades. I raised to 60. We saw the flop 9 handed for $60. It was the sickest thing that I have seen at a 1/2 table. $540 in the pot preflop. Flop was 48j with 2 spades. I had $250 left. Everyone checked to me and I went all. The original raiser from UTG was the only caller and he only had $125. He had AK Spades. I was very nervous. I faded all of his outs and won with a pair of 4 with a 2 kicker. I love this game. The guy went a little crazy when he saw my hand, but he actually handled it very well. He told me that he wrongly assumed that I was nitty girl and put me on a big pair. He said that if I was a guy that he would have shoved preflop assuming that I was just squeezing. He politely said nice hand rebought for $300 and proceeded to take it out on the rest of the table by winning 7 of the next 9 hands to have $975 after one orbit. He was on fire and he played his hands and the "tilt" image perfectly. I was VERY impressed with his game.
Hoping to play some cash games soon.
